Fear of Trying…

I am afraid my dreams are too much.

I don’t feel this way all of the time, but this thought crosses my mind enough to freak me out.  Sometimes I am afraid that my dreams are too much, and that I am not enough. I think in extremes. It’s at these times when I remember that there is something that scares me more than failure: dreams that are unfulfilled.

Some dreams aren’t meant to work out, but many of us never even find out because we get caught up in the #1 way in which to kill your dreams: failure to try.

Most people think they are afraid of failure.  Afraid of the public collapse of their self-esteem. Stuck on thinking that the world will find out that all of this time they were really frontin’, totally in capable of delivering the goods.

Everyone has felt this way at sometime, and I thought I was one of these people, too until I realized that I have been confusing the fear of failure, with the fear of trying. Trying is the scary part. It’s the moment when you are hanging in the balance. Never really sure if things will turn out “right’ or not. Trying only comes after lots of thoughts of “thinking of trying” in which you contemplate both sides of the try. The win. The lose.

And sometimes we get stuck here. Somewhere between action and inaction. The try is the middle step. The scary step.

“Don’t be a afraid of trying!”

Focus on You

We are uniquely designed to run our own race.

When we truly understand and embrace this, we won’t be tempted to compare or wish we had what someone else has. You won’t think, “If only I had their talent…” No, if God wanted you to have that talent, He would have given it to you. Instead, take what you have and develop it. Make the most of it. Don’t think, “If only I had her looks…” No, God gave you your looks. That’s not an accident. The life you have has been perfectly matched for you.

Now, you’ve got to do your part and get excited about your life. Be excited about who you are — your looks, your talent, your ability, your personality. When you’re passionate about who you are, it brings honor to God. That’s when God will breathe in your direction and the seeds of greatness in you will take root and begin to flourish!

Confused…

I feel almost as depressed as I did in 2008. And anyone who knows me, knows 2008 was definitely the WORST time in my life.

But this time it’s different because nothing is really going wrong. I have a good job, I’m progressing in the right direction but this feels all wrong.

I don’t want to be this person moving up the slow ladder of corporate america. I don’t want to take 15 yrs to be SOMEBODY.

It’s so confusing because all I have is a list of things I don’t want to do and almost nothing on the list of what I do want to do.

I’ve always had goals and kept busy with organizations, now all I do is work, read blogs, and watch youtube videos and I know I’m wasting my potential away.

But I don’t know where to start….

During my pitfall of 2008, I fell so low I was ready to do anything because I didn’t believe things could get any worse. It sounds bad but I wish I was there again…..

Who in there right mind says this and doesn’t think that what they said was remotely offensive.

If this is a compliment you can take in. Good for you. Because I just had to go all out on this one boy.

I mean. WHAT THE HELL is wrong with society. Saying light skin is beautiful. Dark skin means…

You have to believe you are beautiful.

She told me,

“If you believe you are ugly,
Then everyone will see you as so,
And every time you look in the mirror,
You will see an ugly person,
You will see nothing but imperfection
And you will feel disgusted with “yourself”.
I can tell you how beautiful you are
But you have to believe it, you have to dear.”
